After delivering a successful Social Media campaign for the Fosters Group we were surprised to find that despite all the obvious success of the campaign as well as the buzz that was surrounding Social Media at the time, few brands had the budget or inclination to venture into a Social Media Campaign.
This raised an important question for us:
How do we create the opportunity for brands to engage their customers within Facebook on an ongoing basis and a limited budget?
The light bulb went off for us twelve months ago and since then we have developed the technology that in effect gives brands the opportunity to create a series of engagements that are all contained within their Facebook Fan page – at a fraction of the cost of a normal social media campaign. We call it the ‘Additude Viral Facebook Page’.
To demonstrate this further let’s examine the following:
The image below shows a brand that has the standard brand tabs of ‘Wall’, ‘Info’, ‘Photos’, ‘Boxes’, & ‘Notes’.

These standard tabs offer little opportunity for brands to connect with their customers as the content is already preempted. The brand then provides the information in this way and the result is a generic Facebook page that looks and acts the same as all other branded Facebook fan pages. The outcome for the user is an engagement with a brand that is short lived and quickly forgotten.
Conversely, take an ‘Additude Viral Facebook Page’ which is shown below.

Here, a number of features can be implemented including competitions, loyalty programs, product showcasing and coupon offerings – all from within the Brand’s Customised fan page. Furthermore, when a user initiates an activity from within this page, a viral message is spread within their circle of friends. Apart from the obvious branding benefits, brands can use this customisation to incentivise purchases or to create hype surrounding a competition.
The first brand to implement Additude’s customised Facebook product is Rampage Australia: an edgy new fashion brand offering stylish clothes at affordable prices.

Customers more than ever are seeking brands that go beyond the status quo and offer something more. This was the rationale we employed when creating the Additude Viral Facebook page and as a result of doing this, we have helped to largely satisfy this demand.
As Facebook continues to be the most consistently used social media, there exists great potential for brands to differentiate themselves, stimulate their users and ultimately sell more.
So, what are you waiting for?
